Armstrong, Fraser Lake, and Vancouver Island

After we finished up our stint at Kananaskis, we headed over to BC.  Fires were still burning in the southern part of the province so it was smoky, especially through Rogers Pass.

We stopped over in Armstrong for a couple of days at Jerry and Gail's, friends whom we met on the spring trip north.  Then it was up to Fraser Lake to visit my mom and family for a week or so.  Enroute we stayed overnight at the Treasure Cove Casino in Prince George (53.89568, -122.76511).

And then down to Vancouver Island, with an overnight at a rest area south of Cache Creek (50.63937, -121.34309), to attend the wedding of Heather Philips and Glen Massick in Nanaimo.  We stayed for a week around the wedding at the Living Forest Campground

Then we headed up island for a couple weeks at Strathcona Dam Recreation Area (49.99958, -125.58288).  This is a beautiful campsite with boat access down the river to Lower Campbell Lake, where Rainbow fishing was pretty good once I was able to figure out where they were.

Oh, and we decided to change out the living room TV while we were there... Habitat for Humanity gained a nice working 43" projection TV and we gained a nice LED TV that uses about 20% of the power, letting those coach batteries last right through both HNIC games.  Win-win.

We also did a little touring of course, including a trip cross island to Gold River and Myra Falls.
